Starlites and Hibernians Stay Hot as Basketball playoff race heats Up

Starlites Revive maintained their flawless record in the Men’s Basketball league as they powered past Valletta Dream in a thrilling, high-scoring clash. The Naxxar side enjoyed standout double-double displays from Musa Jallow and Jayden Iturmendi, while Fee, Scerri, Felice Pace and Fabri also reached double figures to underline a dominant team performance. Valletta, however, had a major highlight of their own as Miles produced a superb 45-point haul to finish as the game’s top scorer, with Mifsud Bonnici and Varcallo also contributing in double figures.
Hibernians also continued their strong run of form after comfortably overcoming Luxol Sherries Estates to register a third consecutive victory. Ajiboye, Jackson, Gouder and Cassar all hit double figures for the Paolites, while Ivan Demcesen delivered an impressive 21-point, 13-rebound double-double. Luxol found encouragement from recent signings Howard and Brewer, who scored 18 and 21 points respectively, with Brewer also adding 12 rebounds to complete a double-double.
The Plaza Depiro returned to winning ways with a solid performance against Athleta AtoZ. Uadiale led the way with a dominant 22-point, 18-rebound double-double, while Nikola Bozovic also posted a double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds. Athleta’s main threat came from Isaac Bonett, who finished with 22 points, while Ebelashvili registered a 10-point, 10-rebound double-double.

Victories for the top three sides over the weekend ensured the battle for the final playoff places remains wide open. Starlites Revive (8–0) stay perfect and continue to lead the standings, with Hibernians (7–1) close behind in second and still within striking distance. The Plaza Depiro (4–4) strengthened their push for a playoff berth as they held onto third place.
Meanwhile, Luxol Sherries Estates (2–6) and Athleta AtoZ (2–6) remain level in the race for the playoffs, with Valletta Dream (1–7) still within reach in sixth place.
