Zambia coach finally makes debut following struggle with food poisoning

Zambia coach Moses Sichone is set to make his long-awaited debut on the sidelines on Monday, after missing his first scheduled appearance last month.
Zambia will face Mali in Casablanca in their Africa Cup of Nations Group A clash, following hosts Morocco’s 2-0 victory over Comoros in Sunday’s tournament opener in Rabat.
Sichone, who was appointed in November as Avram Grant’s successor, had been unable to take charge after Grant departed in late October following a disappointing run in World Cup qualifying, just weeks before the Cup of Nations kicked off in Morocco.
The former Bundesliga defender missed his initial opportunity due to food poisoning, which left him bedridden. He was even hospitalized while the Zambian squad traveled to Angola for another warm-up friendly.
