Żabbar St Patrick booked their place in the semi-finals of the MFA Jubilee Cup in emphatic fashion, dismantling Żebbuġ Rangers 8–0 in a completely one-sided encounter at the Centenary Stadium.

The Saints were in total control from the opening whistle, racing into a three-goal lead inside the first quarter of an hour and never looking back. The dominant victory sees Żabbar advance to Wednesday’s semi-final, where they will face Sliema Wanderers for a place in the Jubilee Cup final scheduled for December 8.

Żabbar needed just eight minutes to break the deadlock. Captain Brian Gambarte delivered a precise cross into the box, and Jake Micallef rose highest to head firmly past goalkeeper Jake Scicluna.

Three minutes later the lead was doubled. Jurgen Pisani burst down the left flank and squared a low cross for Haroun Tchaouna, who made no mistake with a powerful first-time finish.

Żebbuġ’s problems deepened moments later when Gambarte once again provided the assist, this time for Mayron, who headed home a pinpoint cross to make it 3–0 after only 16 minutes.

Mayron continued to torment the Żebbuġ defence. On 25 minutes, his cross found Pedro Cejas, whose header was tipped onto the bar by Scicluna. But from the resulting corner—taken by Gambarte—Mayron was perfectly positioned to head in Żabbar’s fourth.

Cejas got on the scoresheet four minutes later with a superbly curled free-kick from a central position, extending the Saints’ lead to five.

Żabbar made it 6–0 just before the interval when Cejas attempted to find Abu Dumbuya, only for a defensive mix-up to leave the ball at the Żabbar forward’s feet, allowing him to fire home.

The second half was a formality, but Żabbar still found time to add two more goals. On 63 minutes, Nicholas Agius converted a penalty to make it seven. Then, six minutes from time, the Saints were awarded another spot-kick, which Timothy Evipartrker calmly dispatched to complete the rout.

Żabbar now stand just one win away from reaching the final of the unique one-off competition, with confidence soaring after a remarkable quarter-final performance.
