Yildiz shines as Juventus defeat Cagliari, extending Spalletti’s unbeaten streak

Juventus stretched their unbeaten streak against Cagliari to 10 matches with a 2-1 victory in tonight’s early Serie A clash at the Juventus Stadium.
The home side started strongly, dominating the early exchanges. Francisco Conceicao came close with a shot from inside the area, but it was blocked. Surprisingly, it was the visitors who drew first blood as the half-hour approached. After regaining possession high up the pitch, Marco Palestra surged into the area and squared for Sebastiano Esposito, whose first-time finish found the bottom right-hand corner, stunning the home crowd.
Cagliari’s lead proved short-lived. Just a minute later, a loose ball in the Juventus box was seized by Kenan Yildiz, who mirrored Esposito’s finish to level the score and draw the Old Lady back into the game.
From there, Luciano Spalletti’s side took control. Their dominance was rewarded in first-half stoppage time when Pierre Kalulu delivered a precise pass to Yildiz, who advanced into the area and fired a left-footed shot into the bottom right-hand corner, giving Juventus the lead.
Despite some nerves—particularly given Juventus had drawn five of their previous six competitive home games—the hosts maintained their composure. Conceicao had a chance to put the result beyond doubt late on, but his strike from inside the box crashed over the crossbar. Nonetheless, Juventus held on to secure a vital three points with minimal fuss.
Key Match Stats
With this win, Juventus remain unbeaten under new manager Luciano Spalletti and continue to recover from a slow start to the season. They are staying on pace with the teams in the European spots, while Cagliari, who are now winless in nine league matches, hover just one point above the relegation zone.
