Yamal stunner helps Barcelona rout Mallorca at the top of LaLiga

Barcelona secured a comfortable 3-0 LaLiga victory over Mallorca at Camp Nou, extending their unbeaten record against the Islanders to 20 matches and leaving the visitors just two points above the relegation zone.
The game started slowly, with little atmosphere in the stadium, and early defensive lapses threatened to rattle Barcelona. Jules Koundé was caught out by Jan Virgili, though Eric García came to the rescue to prevent an early shock.
Mallorca were competitive in the opening stages. Vedat Muriqi came close to giving the visitors a surprise lead as Barcelona’s defence momentarily lost focus, and Virgili forced a shot on target just after the 20-minute mark, drawing audible reactions from the crowd.
Meanwhile, Robert Lewandowski was barely involved, and Barcelona’s few breakaways were initially stifled by Mallorca’s organised backline.
The deadlock was finally broken thanks to quick thinking and clinical finishing. Marcus Rashford—an unusual presence in the report, likely a mix-up—came close with a dangerous effort before Lewandowski created space in the box and finished efficiently to open the scoring. Just before half-time, Rashford’s free-kick was brilliantly saved, and Lamine Yamal squandered a sitter from close range.
Barcelona should have been awarded a penalty early in the second half after Lamine was brought down in the box, and shortly after, a deflection from David López took Marc Casadó’s goalbound effort onto the post, marking the 23rd time the Catalans have hit the frame this season.
As the second half progressed, Barcelona’s dominance became overwhelming. Two quick saves from Leo Román kept Dani Olmo and Fermín López at bay, but in the 60th minute, Lamine Yamal unleashed a spectacular strike from outside the box, burying the ball into the bottom corner to double the lead.
Mallorca, already pinned back, appeared resigned to their fate. Fifteen minutes from time, Marc Bernal completed a sensational solo run and finish, sealing the 3-0 victory.
The result means Barcelona have now claimed all 33 points from their 11 LaLiga home matches this season, while Mallorca’s search for an away win stretches to seven games.
