Xewkija Tigers continued their strong start to the 2025/26 GFA BOV Gozo Football League 1st Division season with a commanding 3-1 victory over Nadur Youngsters at the Gozo Stadium on Friday evening. The result cements the Tigers’ position at the top of the standings as they push for another league title.

First-Half Dominance

Xewkija took control of the match early on, with Argentine forward Brian Alejandro Parada proving instrumental once again. He broke the deadlock in the 41st minute, finishing clinically to give the Tigers a deserved lead.

Just before the break, Parada doubled the advantage in first-half stoppage time (45+1’), converting another well-worked move to send Xewkija into halftime with a solid 2-0 cushion.

Sealing the Win

Nadur attempted to regroup in the second half but struggled to find a breakthrough against a disciplined Xewkija defense. Any hopes of a comeback were dashed in the 82nd minute, when Brazilian striker Marcelo Junior Barbosa added a third goal for the visitors, effectively sealing the contest.

Joao Pedro Oliveira Santos (Pedrinho) managed to pull one back for Nadur in the 89th minute, but it proved nothing more than a consolation as Xewkija comfortably held on for all three points.
