West Ham secure long-term signing of Castellanos from Lazio

Argentina forward Taty Castellanos has completed a move to West Ham United, signing a four-and-a-half-year contract with the Premier League club that includes an option to extend for a further year, West Ham announced on Monday.
The 27-year-old arrives from Lazio after scoring 10 goals in Serie A last season and will be available for selection in Tuesday’s Premier League match against Nottingham Forest.
“I’m really happy because this is a very important challenge for me personally,” Castellanos said. “I’ve come to contribute and to help the team as much as I can.”
Castellanos will wear the number 11 shirt at West Ham.
Head coach Nuno Espirito Santo identified the former Girona and New York City FC forward as a key transfer target, the club said.
West Ham are currently 18th in the Premier League, four points adrift of 17th-placed Nottingham Forest, and have failed to win any of their last nine league matches.
“Every match is a battle,” Castellanos added. “I’m going to give everything to defend this jersey and to achieve our goals day after day.”
