Valletta FC have completed the signing of former Santa Lucia goalkeeper Julani Archibald, bolstering their options between the posts ahead of the closing of the transfer window.

The Citizens moved swiftly to reinforce their goalkeeping department after allowing Timothy Aquilina to join Swieqi United on deadline day. Their search led them to experienced shot-stopper Archibald, who has now agreed to make a return to the Maltese Premier League.

The St Kitts & Nevis international is no stranger to local football, having first arrived in Malta in the summer of 2021 when he joined Santa Lucia. He later enjoyed a brief stint with Birkirkara before departing the island after a year.

Following his time in Malta, Archibald continued his career in Honduras, featuring for both CD Victoria and Platense FC, gaining valuable experience in Central American football.

At Valletta, the towering goalkeeper is expected to provide strong competition for Brazilian custodian Adilson Maringa as the club looks to strengthen its squad for the remainder of the season.
