Tyson Fury will return to the ring in his home country on April 11, taking on Arslanbek Makhmudov in his first bout since coming out of retirement.

The 37-year-old former heavyweight champion announced his retirement early last year but had repeatedly hinted at a comeback. Those rumours were confirmed this month, with Fury set to fight for the first time since his defeat to Oleksandr Usyk in December 2024. The venue for the contest is yet to be revealed.

“Excited to be back. My heart has always been and always will be in boxing. Someone go tell the king that the ace is back,” Fury said.

Makhmudov, a Russian-born fighter based in Canada, boosted his reputation with a dominant victory over Britain’s Dave Allen in his most recent outing.

“I am thrilled about the opportunity,” Makhmudov said. “I’m coming to deliver a war. Tyson Fury has been a great champion, but I’ll be more ready than ever to leave with a massive win.”
