Tottenham expected to part ways with Thomas Frank after clash with Borussia Dortmund

Tottenham Hotspur are expected to part ways with Thomas Frank following today’s Champions League clash against Borussia Dortmund.
According to sources close to the club, while the decision to sack Frank has been under serious consideration for some time, the European fixture is likely to be his final game in charge. The timing of the squad’s condition delayed the decision, as Spurs head into the match with just eleven available outfield players due to injuries, suspensions, and other ineligibilities—making an immediate replacement seem unfair.
On Monday, Frank met with chief executive Vinai Venkatesham, sporting director Johan Lange, and Nick Beucher, co-owner Vivienne Lewis’ influential son-in-law. The meeting was described as amicable, but sources suggest that the decision to move on from Frank is all but certain.
Some members of the Tottenham board have reportedly felt Frank should have been dismissed a month ago, though Venkatesham has been a key supporter in keeping him at the helm. Despite that backing, only an extraordinary turnaround on the pitch could save his position, with an announcement about his future possibly coming as soon as Wednesday.
If Frank departs, Johnny Heitinga, who recently joined as Frank’s first-team assistant, could take over as interim head coach. Meanwhile, the club has already begun exploring long-term replacements, with high-profile names such as Mauricio Pochettino and Xavi Hernandez reportedly under consideration.
Tottenham are keen to secure elite managerial talent to complement their squad and retain key players, making today’s fixture a potentially pivotal moment for the club.
