Thomas Frank confident he can turn Tottenham’s fortunes around

Tottenham Hotspur manager Thomas Frank insists he is the right man to steer the club forward, pointing to his track record of reversing slow starts at previous teams as evidence he can lift Spurs out of their current struggles.
Tottenham sit 14th in the Premier League, having won just one of their last eight league matches, ahead of Sunday’s trip to ninth-placed Crystal Palace.
“At Brøndby, I didn’t win the first eight games, and then we went unbeaten in nine. At Brentford, we lost eight of 10 games, and then we were unbeaten in 10,” Frank said, referring to his previous managerial roles. “So I am convinced we will see a similar pattern here. I’m not in doubt about that because I know how to build a competitive team. We will make a very competitive team here as well.”
The 52-year-old also revealed he has been reflecting more than ever on the game since joining Spurs.
“The good thing is I’ve always been a good sleeper, so that helps. But, of course, you feel the thoughts are just under the surface. We’ve all experienced that with work,” he added.
“They’ve been there a long time because there’s a lot to sort out. When you face small setbacks and don’t get the right response, you either try something new or you stick to it. That’s the process. It’s normal. It’s not the first time in my career that I haven’t found the team instantly, but it will come over time. I know it will. Probably sooner rather than later.”
