Birkirkara produced a performance defined by resilience and heart, overturning a one-goal deficit despite playing for over an hour with ten men to defeat Żabbar St Patrick 2-1.

The Stripes started the encounter with high energy. Just ten minutes in, Kemar Reid nearly broke the deadlock when he connected with a pinpoint Manuel Morello cross, but his effort was brilliantly parried by Ignacio Colombo. Żabbar grew into the game and responded in the 29th minute, forcing Birkirkara goalkeeper Martinez into action to save a stinging drive from Vinicius De Paiva.

The complexion of the match changed dramatically in the 34th minute. Following a Football Support Review for an off-the-ball incident involving Stephan Makoma, the referee brandished a straight red card, leaving Birkirkara to navigate the remainder of the contest a man down.

Żabbar wasted little time exploiting their numerical advantage after the interval. In the 52nd minute, Vinicius De Paiva caught Martinez off guard with a thumping strike that flew into the net, putting the underdog side ahead.
