Tarxien have expressed their disappointment regarding a number of refereeing decisions which they believe have negatively impacted the team throughout the season.

In an official statement, the club noted that there were several occasions during the campaign where the team was penalised as a result of decisions which, in their view, as well as in the opinion of members of the sporting public and senior figures within Maltese football, could have been interpreted differently.

Particular reference was made to the recent match against Gżira United, where certain decisions taken during the course of the game had a direct effect on the final result. The club emphasised that these remarks are being made with a strong sense of responsibility and full respect towards all institutions and match officials involved, with no intention of undermining their role.

Tarxien also highlighted the considerable financial sacrifices made to ensure that the team is able to compete at the highest possible level. At the same time, players and technical staff dedicate long hours to training with discipline and commitment.

Within this context, the club stated that it is disheartening to see hard work, sacrifice, and dedication potentially compromised by decisions that can have a decisive influence on matches.

Despite their concerns, Tarxien reaffirmed their belief in sporting integrity, fairness, and transparency. The club expressed hope that greater consistency and clarity will continue to be applied in the interpretation of the rules, in the best interests of the game and the wider sporting community.
