Sliema clinch BOV Winter Under-20 Water Polo League Title


Sliema have been confirmed as champions of the BOV Under-20 Winter Water Polo League following an outstanding and unbeaten campaign that was secured in the final game of the season. Their consistent performances throughout the league underline the strength, depth, and quality of youth development within Maltese water polo.
The championship was sealed when Sliema overcame their closest rivals, Neptunes, with a decisive 13-4 victory in the final fixture played at the Birżebbuġa pool. With both teams demonstrating high standards of competition throughout the campaign, the encounter marked a fitting climax to an exciting Under-20 season.
Following the match, the Champions’ trophy was presented by Stefan Abela, Community Relations Manager at Bank of Valletta, together with Karl Izzo, President of the Aquatic Sports Association of Malta (ASA). The occasion highlighted the strong collaboration between the Bank and the ASA, particularly regarding the development of young athletes and the long-term sustainability of aquatic sports in Malta.
