Senglea Athletic have announced the appointment of Edmond Lufi as their new head coach, marking the start of an exciting new chapter for the club.

A former professional defender, Lufi enjoyed a long and distinguished playing career in Maltese football, turning out for several of the country’s top clubs including Valletta, Ħamrun Spartans, Hibernians, Pietà Hotspurs, Naxxar Lions and Mqabba. His experience at the highest level of the local game has provided him with a deep understanding of Maltese football both on and off the pitch.

Following his retirement as a player, Lufi successfully transitioned into coaching, building up a wealth of experience across various levels of the domestic game. He has previously held managerial roles with Marsa, Pietà Hotspurs, San Ġwann, Mosta, Melita, Luqa St. Andrew’s and, most recently, St. George’s.

Senglea Athletic have expressed their enthusiasm at welcoming Lufi to the club, confident that his knowledge, leadership and experience will be instrumental as the team looks ahead to the remainder of the season.

The club now looks forward to working closely with their new coach as preparations begin for the challenges ahead.
