Transfer expert Rudy Galetti brings you the latest developments from across Europe as clubs begin shaping their plans for the summer window.

Atletico Madrid Step Back from Ederson Pursuit

Atletico Madrid have decided to ease their interest in Atalanta midfielder Ederson following a failed attempt to sign him in January.

The Spanish giants made a determined push for the Brazilian after completing the signing of Ademola Lookman, submitting offers of up to €50 million plus bonuses. Despite their efforts, Atalanta refused to negotiate, maintaining from the outset that Ederson was not for sale.

The midfielder had already agreed personal terms with Atletico on a contract running until 2031, highlighting his desire to move to LaLiga. However, with the transfer window now closed, Atletico have chosen not to reopen talks at this stage.

Instead, Diego Simeone’s side have added Rodrigo Mendoza and will reassess their midfield options ahead of the summer. The club may ultimately decide to invest in alternative targets or strengthen other areas of the squad.

Ederson remains under contract with Atalanta until 2027, and the Serie A club have opted for stability over a lucrative sale.

Milan, Betis and Gent Monitor Sevi Idriz

AC Milan, Real Betis and Gent are among several clubs tracking Bulgarian winger Sevi Idriz.

The 18-year-old, who plays for Lokomotiv Plovdiv, has impressed scouts with his pace, creativity and maturity. He has made six senior appearances this season across league and cup competitions, registering two assists.

Idriz is also a regular for Bulgaria’s Under-19 side, earning seven caps and scoring once. His growing international profile has further increased interest from abroad.

While no formal negotiations have begun, interested clubs continue to monitor his development closely. A potential move in the summer remains a strong possibility if his progress continues.

Fiorentina Keep Close Watch on Eray Cömert

Fiorentina are showing strong interest in Valencia defender Eray Cömert as they look to reinforce their back line.

The Swiss international’s contract expires in June, making him available on a free transfer. The Viola explored a January move but were unable to secure a deal at the time.

With 18 caps for Switzerland, Cömert is valued for his experience and reliability. Fiorentina see him as a cost-effective option to strengthen their squad.

Several other Serie A clubs have also requested updated information on his salary demands and agent fees, suggesting growing competition. His future is expected to become a key talking point as the summer window approaches.

Icardi Never Close to Juventus Move

Despite recent speculation, Mauro Icardi was never close to joining Juventus from Galatasaray.

The Italian club made only preliminary enquiries, and discussions never progressed beyond an informal stage. No advanced talks took place regarding a return to Serie A.

Icardi’s contract in Turkey expires at the end of the season, and Galatasaray are eager to secure his future. The club views him as a central figure and is working towards a renewal.

Currently, Icardi is seeking a two-year deal, while Galatasaray have offered a one-year extension. Although this remains a sticking point, both sides are confident a compromise can be reached. Further talks are scheduled for later this month.

Liverpool Determined to Keep Keyrol Figueroa

Liverpool are keen to retain highly-rated forward Keyrol Figueroa amid growing interest from across Europe.

The youngster has recently appointed Federico Pastorello as his new agent, joining P&P Sport Management in a move that reflects his rising profile.

Figueroa is under contract at Anfield until June 2026, but Liverpool have already opened negotiations to extend his deal by a further two years. Talks are ongoing, highlighting the club’s belief in his long-term potential.

Interest is increasing ahead of the summer, with Porto monitoring his situation and several clubs in Spain’s Segunda División showing interest. Two Scottish sides have also made enquiries.

In the United States, New York Red Bulls and Charlotte FC have registered formal interest, though a move to MLS is not currently a priority.

With contract talks underway and attention building, Figueroa now faces a pivotal period that could shape the next stage of his career.
