Vinícius Júnior said on Wednesday that he is feeling happier and more confident than ever, and is determined to replicate his Real Madrid success with the Brazil national team as World Cup preparations gather pace.

The 25-year-old winger has experienced a mixed season. He endured a difficult start to the 2025/26 campaign, going 16 matches without a goal and facing criticism from sections of the Bernabéu crowd.

However, he has since rediscovered his form, registering 17 goals and 13 assists in 43 appearances across all competitions for Real Madrid this season.

Despite an impressive club career that includes two Champions League titles and three LaLiga crowns, Vinicius has managed eight goals in 45 appearances for Brazil and is now determined to convert his potential into international success as he looks ahead to his second World Cup.

I feel more at ease, I’m happier, and when I’m happier, everyone around me is happier and more confident too,” Vinícius Júnior told reporters ahead of Thursday’s friendly against France.

“I hope that everything I do for Real Madrid I can also replicate with the Brazilian national team. That is my biggest goal. It’s where I’ve always dreamed of being, and I want to bring great pride to our country and a lot of joy to our fans.”

Brazil are aiming to return to the top after their quarter-final exit at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, where they were eliminated on penalties by Croatia.

Vinicius, however, insists he is shutting out external pressure as the tournament approaches.

“I know what I’m capable of and how much I’ve been working to be ready for the World Cup,” he added.
