Qualification matches for the Blackball 2026 Nations Cup begin
Four players have advanced to the semifinals of the first qualifying tournament for the Blackball 2026 Nations Cup, which will be held in Gibraltar.
Clayton Castaldi, Miguel Amato, Johan Attard, and Clint Azzopardi have all secured their places among the final four competitors.
Clint Azzopardi recorded the biggest win of the round with an 8–1 victory over Glenn Axiaq, while Miguel Amato and Clayton Castaldi both achieved identical 8–2 scores against Gabriel Vella and Miguel Mizzi, respectively.
Malta’s reigning champion, Johan Attard, continued his consistent form with an 8–4 win over Wayne Pace.
The semifinals will take place this coming Friday, with Miguel Amato facing Clayton Castaldi and Johan Attard meeting Clint Azzopardi.
The final of this first qualifying tournament is scheduled for November 3.
