The BOV GFA Cup quarter-finals delivered a festival of goals at the Kercem Stadium on Saturday, with Qala Saints and Nadur Youngsters both securing emphatic victories to book their places in the semi-finals.

Qala Saints Sweep Past Gharb Rangers (8–1)

Qala Saints put on a ruthless attacking display to dismantle Gharb Rangers 8–1 in the opening quarter-final. The Saints stamped their authority early through Ibrahim Mohammed, who opened the scoring in the 14th minute.

Just three minutes later, Joseph Zammit doubled the lead before adding his second of the afternoon on 27 minutes to make it 3–0. Gustavo Dos Santos Lemos joined the scoresheet in the 35th minute, extending Qala’s dominance.

Gharb managed to pull one back through Tristan Axiak on 41 minutes, but Qala Saints resumed control after the break. Matteo Camilleri (49’) and an unfortunate own goal by Romario Mysteqja (55’) stretched the lead to 6–1.

Substitute Luke Attard added a seventh in the 77th minute, before Emanuel Buttigieg, who moments earlier had seen his penalty saved, made amends by scoring Qala’s eighth in the 87th minute.

Nadur Youngsters Hit Seven Past Żebbuġ Rovers

In the second quarter-final, Nadur Youngsters underlined their title credentials with a commanding 7–0 win over Żebbuġ Rovers.

Scarpari struck again on 32 minutes to make it 3–0, and Diego Fernando Rodriguez Angulo netted a brace before the break to put Nadur in total control.

Rodriguez completed his hat-trick in the 64th minute, while Luka Haber rounded off the scoring with Nadur’s seventh goal in the 74th minute. Żebbuġ’s difficult night continued when Haraan Hajazan Gonçalves Barbosa saw his penalty saved late on.
