Oratory Youths FC booked their place in the next round of the BOV GFA Cup after a thrilling 5–4 penalty shootout victory over St Lawrence Spurs FC at the Sannat Ground on Friday, 31st October 2025.

The two sides could not be separated after extra time, with the match ending 2–2, before Oratory held their nerve from the spot to secure progression.

The match, officiated by referee Anthony Paul Vella, provided no shortage of drama. Neil Said opened the scoring for Oratory in the 50th minute, but their lead was short-lived as Ebube Ralph Okpokwu equalised just a minute later for the Spurs.

Momentum then swung in favour of St Lawrence, with Michael Xuerreb putting them ahead on 68 minutes. However, Oratory responded swiftly once again, with Aroldinho striking in the 74th minute to restore parity and force extra time.

Despite both teams pushing for a winner in the added period, neither could find the decisive goal, leading to a tense penalty shootout. Oratory Youths held their composure to triumph 5–4 from the spot, sealing their passage to the next round of the competition.
