Oliver Glasner Confirms Marc Guéhi Set to Leave Crystal Palace Next Year

England international Marc Guéhi looks set to leave Crystal Palace at the end of the season, manager Oliver Glasner has confirmed.
The centre-back came close to joining Liverpool on transfer deadline day last month, but the deal collapsed at the final moment — costing Palace the chance to secure a significant transfer fee.
Guéhi, now in the final year of his contract, has informed the club that this will be his final campaign at Selhurst Park.
“The club wanted him to stay. They offered Marc a new contract, but he said, ‘No, I want to make something different,’ and that’s normal,” Glasner explained.
“For us, it’s about how we manage this situation — what’s the best way to make the next step — and that’s something we’re discussing together.”
Since joining from Chelsea in 2021, Guéhi has made 167 appearances for Palace and famously captained the side to FA Cup glory in May. The 25-year-old has also earned 26 caps for England and remains an ever-present figure in Glasner’s lineup this season.
With his contract expiring next summer, Palace face a decision: sell Guéhi in January or risk losing him on a free transfer. From January 1, he will be free to negotiate a pre-contract with overseas clubs.
Reports suggest Palace would prefer to cash in during the winter window, with Liverpool expected to revive their interest. However, the Reds could face competition from European giants Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich.
Crystal Palace, who sat sixth in the Premier League before the weekend fixtures after an impressive start to the season, host high-flying Bournemouth on Saturday.
