Noni Madueke celebrates ‘Perfect Night’ after netting first Arsenal goal against Bayern

Arsenal winger Noni Madueke described scoring his first goal for the club as the perfect way to cap a memorable night, helping his side to a 3-1 Champions League victory over Bayern Munich on Wednesday.
The England international, who joined Arsenal from Chelsea in July, was playing just his second match since returning from a knee injury that kept him sidelined for over two months.
Madueke made his comeback as a late substitute in Sunday’s 4-1 derby win over Tottenham Hotspur, before again coming off the bench against Bayern, replacing the injured Leandro Trossard.
He marked the occasion by opening his Arsenal account in the 69th minute, converting a cross from fellow substitute Riccardo Calafiori.
“I had a long injury, it was difficult, but today I made up for it. It’s amazing,” Madueke told Arsenal’s official website. “It was a Champions League night, so it was perfect to get my first goal for the club and for the win on top. It’s a perfect night.”
The win extended Arsenal’s flawless start in this season’s Champions League and handed Bayern their first defeat of the campaign across all competitions. With Inter Milan losing their match, Arsenal are now the only team in the tournament with a maximum 15 points.
“It’s a massive show of what we’re producing at the moment, not just in the Champions League, but also domestically. We need to continue at this level and just keep it going,” the 23-year-old added. “The level we’re playing at now is incredible, and we need to keep adapting, keep pushing boundaries. That’s the only way we can stay there.”
Arsenal, who top the Premier League with 29 points, will face London rivals Chelsea on Sunday.
