Cole Palmer has dismissed speculation over his future, insisting he has “no plans to move from Chelsea” despite recent links with a return to Manchester.

The 23-year-old has been linked with a potential move to Manchester United in recent months, with reports suggesting he could be tempted by a return to his home city. However, Palmer has moved to shut down the rumours.

His season has been disrupted by injury problems, but he has still contributed nine goals and one assist in 21 Premier League appearances.

Speaking to The Guardian, Palmer made it clear he remains committed to Chelsea and is focused on the remainder of the campaign and the club’s plans for the summer.

“Everyone just talks,” he said. “When I see it, I just laugh. Obviously, Manchester is my home. All my family are there, but I don’t miss it. Maybe I’ll miss it if I don’t go for three months or something. But then, when I get home, I think there’s nothing there for me anyway.”

“I’ve got no plans to move from Chelsea. We’ve still got a lot to play for. We’ve got the FA Cup semi-final, and if we finish in a Champions League spot, it puts us in a good position to sign players that we need.”

“We’ve spoken to the owners, and they’re confident in the players who will help us achieve it. Reece wouldn’t have signed a six-year contract without having discussions with the owners and directors.

“Me and Reece talk a lot about what we need, the players we should bring in, and how things need to be structured. He wouldn’t have committed to a new deal if he wasn’t clear on what was happening behind the scenes.”
