Newcastle United are becoming more open to parting ways with Nick Woltemade this summer, with sources suggesting the striker is “highly likely” to move on should a suitable offer be submitted.

The Magpies are approaching a pivotal transfer window as they reshape parts of the squad while also attempting to keep hold of several of their most influential stars.

Much of the club’s summer strategy will revolve around the futures of Anthony Gordon, Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimaraes, though Flashscore sources have revealed that Newcastle may also consider selling Woltemade for a figure well below the fee they originally invested in the German attacker.

Woltemade arrived during a period when the club were seeking long-term support and competition for Alexander Isak, with Newcastle believing he had the attributes to eventually become a central figure in their attack. His potential and overall profile made him an appealing signing at the time, but his standing within the squad has shifted significantly throughout the campaign.

Although he showed glimpses of promise early on, the forward has struggled to secure a consistent role under Eddie Howe.

A lack of regular impact and inconsistent performances have prevented his season from truly taking shape, and internal talks are expected regarding the next step for both player and club.

Woltemade is understood to have little interest in remaining a peripheral option, meaning Newcastle are now focused on reaching a swift resolution that benefits everyone involved.

Sources indicate that a departure has now become a realistic outcome, with Newcastle expected to consider offers significantly below the £69 million fee paid to sign him from Stuttgart.

While accepting a financial loss is far from ideal, there is growing recognition within the club that recovering the full investment is unlikely given the current situation.

Newcastle are also planning to strengthen their attacking options with a new signing.

If Woltemade is officially made available, interest is expected to come from several European markets. A return to Germany could be one possible option, though his availability is likely to attract attention from a wider range of clubs as well.
