Neuer reveals Bayern’s blueprint to exploit PSG: ‘That’s exactly how we want to hurt them’

Veteran goalkeeper Manuel Neuer insists Bayern Munich know exactly how to “hurt” Paris Saint-Germain as the German champions prepare for Tuesday’s high-stakes Champions League clash in Paris.
PSG, the reigning European champions, lifted last season’s trophy at Bayern’s own Allianz Arena after a dominant 5-0 win over Inter Milan. But this time, it’s Bayern who arrive at the Parc des Princes in imperious form — having won all 15 of their matches across all competitions, setting a new record for the best-ever start by a team in Europe’s top five leagues.
Despite PSG’s pedigree, Neuer says Bayern travel with full confidence and no fear.
“We love to play against PSG and we’re playing to win,” said the 39-year-old captain. “We don’t have any fear. We know what we’re capable of.”
The two-time Champions League winner revealed that Bayern have devised a clear tactical approach to disrupt the French champions’ rhythm.
“We are both teams that like to have the ball — that’s well-known — and perhaps we don’t like to defend much,” Neuer explained. “There will certainly be opportunities to counter-attack. You have to stay alert for that and make sure you’re solid defensively against such quick and dangerous players. That’s exactly how we want to hurt the Parisians.”
A key figure in Bayern’s remarkable run has been Harry Kane. The England captain has netted 22 goals during the club’s 15-game winning streak, while also taking on a more creative role in Bayern’s buildup play.
Head coach Vincent Kompany praised Kane’s evolution this season, highlighting the balance between his scoring instincts and his tactical awareness.
“Harry’s understanding of the role has evolved,” said Kompany. “It’s about creating the right conditions for him to do what he does best — scoring goals — but also allowing him to contribute in the buildup. He has a great sense for the game. His role isn’t completely different from last year, but he’s developed in how he sees it.”
With Neuer’s leadership, Kane’s form, and a flawless record behind them, Bayern head into Paris brimming with belief — ready to prove they can dethrone the champions on their own turf.
