MWRA President Massimo Angileri traveled to Athens, Greece, to officiate in the Final 8 of the Women’s European Aquatics Challenger Cup 2025/26 held over the past weekend.

Angileri was joined by a distinguished panel of international officials, including Aurely Bouchez (France), Nikolett Sajben (Hungary), Martina Kunikova (Slovakia), Ivanka Rakovic Krstonosic (Serbia), Eurico Silva (Portugal), Paula Riehn (Germany), and Marieke van den Berg (Netherlands).

Overseeing the tournament’s proceedings were delegates Matjaz Rakovec (Slovenia) and Radoslaw Koryzna (Poland), alongside Malta’s own female delegate, Ms. Rita Azzopardi.

Eight teams competed for the prestigious title: Galatasaray Zena (Turkey), CSM Unirea Alba Iulia (Romania), Panionios GSS (Greece), Tenerife Echeyde (Spain), Smile Cosenza Pallanuoto (Italy), Zavk Mladost (Croatia), CN Sant Feliu (Spain), and NC Chania (Greece).

The MWRA extended its best wishes to Massimo for his performances throughout the weekend, noting that European Aquatics continues to recognize his expertise by appointing him to the highest levels of both men’s and women’s competitions.
