Lorenzo Musetti kept his hopes of qualifying for the season-ending ATP Finals alive after defeating Alexandre Muller 6-2, 6-4 on Thursday to reach the semi-finals of the ATP event in Athens.

The world No. 9 delivered a composed performance against the Frenchman, breaking early in both sets and controlling the tempo throughout to secure victory in just over 90 minutes.

Musetti must win the Athens title to overtake Felix Auger-Aliassime in the Race to Turin and claim the final remaining spot at next week’s elite season finale.

Whoever earns that last qualification place will join a challenging group featuring world No. 1 Jannik Sinner, Alexander Zverev, and Ben Shelton.

The Italian will next face American Sebastian Korda in Friday’s semi-finals as he continues his late-season push for a debut appearance at the ATP Finals.

Meanwhile, top seed and world No. 5 Novak Djokovic is set to play Nuno Borges later on Thursday for a place in the last four. The 38-year-old Serb has already secured his Turin qualification, where he will compete in a group alongside Carlos Alcaraz, Taylor Fritz, and Alex de Minaur.
