Mourinho holds talks with Perez over potential Real Madrid return
José Mourinho has reportedly held talks with Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez over a possible return to the club.
Real Madrid are on course to finish a second straight season without silverware, and current manager Álvaro Arbeloa is expected to step down this summer.
Mourinho, now in charge of Benfica, has been widely identified as Pérez’s preferred candidate to take over at the Santiago Bernabéu.
According to reports from Esdiario and journalist Sergio Valentín, the pair recently held a video call to discuss the framework of a potential reunion.
The report also claims that Mourinho’s long-time agent Jorge Mendes was present during the meeting, although he reportedly took on an observational role rather than actively participating in the discussions
