Inter Milan brought Pisa SC’s six-match unbeaten streak to an end with a gritty 2–0 win at the Arena Garibaldi, sealed by a second-half brace from Lautaro Martínez.

Pisa, aiming to record consecutive home victories in Serie A, showed admirable energy and intent throughout the opening 45 minutes but ultimately lacked the precision needed in the final third. Inter were similarly subdued in attack early on and relied largely on set pieces to threaten.

Hakan Çalhanoğlu’s superb deliveries twice found teammates in promising areas, yet Francesco Acerbi and Martínez each failed to convert with headers that drifted off target.

The best chance of the half fell to the hosts just before the half-hour mark. A direct ball forward was flicked on by Idrissa Touré, releasing Gabriele Piccinini, whose low, angled strike slid inches wide of the far post as he narrowly missed out on what would have been his first Serie A goal.

After a goalless opening half, Pisa resumed aggressively and nearly broke the deadlock when M’Bala Nzola burst through on goal, only to miscontrol at the crucial moment and pull his effort wide.

Inter made them pay for that miss in the 69th minute. Pressing high, they forced a turnover in Pisa’s half, allowing Pio Esposito to lay the ball into the path of Martínez. The Argentine forward delivered a touch of class, sweeping home a first-time finish that left goalkeeper Simone Scuffet rooted to the spot.

The setback seemed to sap Pisa’s confidence, and Inter wrapped up the points seven minutes from time. Nicolò Barella curled in a precise cross, which Martínez met from close range to double his tally and secure the victory.

Though Pisa entered the match on a six-game unbeaten run, they have still managed just one league win this season and remain in the bottom three. Inter, meanwhile, climb to third place—one point off leaders and city rivals AC Milan.
