Marsa St Michael moved into second place in the MAFA First Division following a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Balluta Barracudas. Malcolm Tirchett’s men took the lead through Jean Col Stiven Urbe Rico at the half-hour mark, with Darko Todorovski doubling the advantage in the second half. Although Matthew Mallia pulled one back for the Barracudas four minutes from time, Marsa held firm to secure the three points.

In another First Division clash, San Ġwann Pro Evolution Academy registered their first win of the season, edging San Ġiljan Saints 3-2. Despite an early free-kick goal by Robert Veskimae for the Saints, a quickfire double from Reda El Ashasi and Nino Barrabe turned the tide for San Ġwann. Pierre Cao Nathan Pham added a third before the break, rendering Victor Sandy Pallot’s late goal for the Saints a mere consolation.
