Germany proved too strong throughout the contest, controlling the match from the early stages and maintaining their advantage with an organised display at both ends of the pool.
Elena Borg led Malta’s scoring effort with four goals, while Jensine Bugelli added two. Chloe Amato, Kendra Navarro and Eyla Schembri also found the net with one goal each.
Despite the defeat, Malta continued to fight until the final whistle and once again showed determination against higher-ranked opposition.
