The Maltese national teams enjoyed a perfect start to the European Men’s Team Snooker Championship in Golem, Albania, on Wednesday, winning all four matches they contested on the opening day.

Malta 1, represented by Aaron Busuttil and Chris Peplow, produced a commanding 3–0 victory over Albania 3 (Albi Rama – Besjan Sinanaj). The pair will face a busy final day of group matches, taking on Poland 3, Hungary, and Bulgaria 2 as they look to top their group.

Malta 2, featuring Alex Borg and Joseph Casha, also started strongly, securing a 3–1 win against Bulgaria 1 (Viktor Iliev – Bratislav Krastev). They will now aim to maintain their momentum on Thursday when they face Albania 1 and Wales in their remaining group fixtures.

Meanwhile, Malta 3Philip Ciantar and Isaac Borg — delivered two impressive performances, winning 3–1 against Albania 2 (Diego Minxalli – Ronald Xoxi) and then 3–0 against Portugal (Diogo Badalo – Jorge Paixão). With these results, Malta 3 have already secured their qualification to the knock-out stage. Their final group match against Ukraine will decide the winners of Group A.

In the 6 Reds competition, Aaron Busuttil also impressed, reaching the semi-finals before being eliminated by English player Craig Steadman.

Malta’s strong start sets a promising tone for the remainder of the championship as the teams aim to secure qualification to the latter stages of the competition.
