Malta suffered a heavy 22-11 defeat to Croatia in their latest Women’s Water Polo World Cup Division Two encounter.

Croatia proved too strong throughout the contest, maintaining control of the match and pulling away on the scoreboard despite Malta’s efforts.

Martha Perici Ferrante was Malta’s top scorer with four goals, while Elena Borg added two. Francesca Paolella also struck twice, with Kendra Navarro, Ella Miceli and Marie Rose Tully each contributing one goal.

Although the result did not go Malta’s way, the home side continued to battle throughout the match against strong opposition and gained further valuable experience at international level.
