According to AS journalist Andrés Onrubia, Paris Saint-Germain have intensified talks to secure one of Barcelona’s most promising young talents.

Eighteen-year-old midfielder Dro Fernández appears to be edging closer to a decision on his future. The highly rated prospect believes remaining at Barcelona could stall his development due to limited first-team opportunities. Now that he has reached adulthood, Fernández is prepared to activate his €6 million release clause in order to leave the club.

Until recently, a move to the Premier League looked like the most likely outcome for the Galician youngster. However, PSG have now entered the picture and, according to AS, have successfully shifted the player’s focus toward Paris.

A key factor in PSG’s growing appeal is Luis Enrique. The former Barcelona coach, now in charge of the Parisian side, has played a decisive role in the negotiations. Fernández is reportedly attracted by the prospect of working under Enrique and fitting into the possession-based, attacking style the Asturian manager is known for.

While breaking into PSG’s star-studded squad would be a significant challenge—especially after Fernández has featured in just five matches this season—the midfielder believes his chances of earning regular playing time are better in Paris than at Barcelona. As things stand, PSG are emerging as serious contenders to land one of La Masia’s latest gems.
