Leipzig star Diomande on Premier League radar, compared to Haaland

Yan Diomande has quickly emerged as one of the most exciting young talents in world football, with Premier League clubs Liverpool and Tottenham reportedly monitoring him as a potential target for 2026.
Just 18 months ago, Diomande was playing in the Florida Central Premier Division with DME Academy in the United States. Since then, his rise has been meteoric. After joining Spanish side Leganes in January, he made another significant step in July when RB Leipzig secured his services.
Sources reveal that scouts within the Red Bull network were blown away by his technical ability and moved swiftly to trigger the €20 million release clause in his contract. Initially signed as a developmental prospect, Diomande has surpassed all expectations, with insiders suggesting Leipzig may now be sitting on a potential €100 million talent.
From semi-professional football at the end of 2024 to his current Bundesliga performances, Diomande’s ascent has been nothing short of sensational — and it shows no signs of slowing. Last weekend, he scored a hat-trick as Leipzig thrashed Eintracht Frankfurt 6-0, a performance that caught the attention of a growing number of elite scouts.
Sources confirm that both Liverpool and Tottenham are closely following his development, impressed by a season tally of seven goals and four assists. Reports also suggest at least ten other top clubs across England, Spain, France, and Germany are keeping tabs on him.
Diomande’s influence at Leipzig is evident. He has recently displaced 22-year-old Johan Bakayoko from the starting XI, a move few anticipated at the start of the campaign. Within the club, confidence in his potential is rapidly growing.
One Red Bull insider even described him as “the most gifted player within our system since Erling Haaland,” high praise from a club renowned for nurturing elite talent.
For now, Leipzig see Diomande as a cornerstone of their long-term project and have no immediate plans to sell. However, there is acknowledgment that if Europe’s biggest clubs come forward with a substantial offer, resisting such an investment could prove extremely difficult.
