Daniel Farke Handed One-Match Suspension and £8,000 Fine After Man City Defeat

Leeds United manager Daniel Farke has been given a one-game suspension and fined £8,000 for confronting match officials following Leeds’ Premier League loss to Manchester City, the Football Association (FA) confirmed on Friday.

After City secured a 1-0 victory at Elland Road last month, Farke approached the referee immediately after the final whistle and was quickly shown a red card. Assistant manager Edmund Riemer described Farke’s comments as “too aggressive.”

“It was alleged that the manager entered the field of play at full time to confront the match official(s), contrary to Law 12 of the Laws of the Game,” the FA said in a statement.

“Daniel Farke subsequently admitted the charge against him and accepted the standard one-match suspension and £8,000 fine.”

Leeds currently sit 15th in the Premier League table and will next host Norwich City—a club Farke previously managed—in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Sunday.
