SS Lazio missed the opportunity to record back-to-back league victories for the first time this season, as they were held to a goalless draw by US Cremonese at the Stadio Olimpico.

Given that only AS Roma’s Serie A matches (1.6) had produced a lower average of goals than Lazio’s (1.87) prior to kick-off, the opening 45 minutes offered little surprise. The first half was a scrappy, low-tempo affair, yielding just two shots in total and none on target.

Both efforts came from Cremonese forward Federico Bonazzoli. His first was an ambitious long-range lob that sailed over the bar, while his second—struck from a more central position—met the same fate. Lazio’s best chance before the break fell to Matteo Guendouzi, but the midfielder also fired over from distance.

The hosts finally tested Emil Audero shortly after the restart, although Taty Castellanos’ header from a corner was comfortably saved, directed straight at the Cremonese goalkeeper.

At the other end, Jamie Vardy spurned a golden opportunity, heading over the bar when unmarked at the back post. Bonazzoli continued to threaten, yet his determination went unrewarded as his low effort after cutting inside was gathered safely by Ivan Provedel.

Lazio applied increased pressure in the closing stages, but a lack of composure in front of goal proved costly. Their frustration was epitomised when Adam Marusic fired straight at Audero from a promising position inside the box.

The result extends Le Aquile’s unbeaten home run to seven matches in all competitions and marks a fifth clean sheet in that span. However, Lazio remain eighth in the table, while Cremonese sit just two points behind in 11th, earning a commendable draw at one of Serie A’s more challenging venues.
