Pierre Kalulu struck deep into stoppage time to rescue a 2-2 draw for Juventus against Lazio, denying the visitors a first league double over the Bianconeri since the 1942/43 season.

Juventus arrived in free-scoring form after back-to-back Serie A victories by margins of three goals or more, yet they found early openings hard to come by against a Lazio side that had recorded three clean sheets in their previous four away matches.

The hosts’ first clear chance came in the 16th minute when Gleison Bremer rose to meet Kalulu’s cross, only for Ivan Provedel to produce a superb save and tip the header over the bar. Provedel was beaten 10 minutes later as Teun Koopmeiners drove a low effort into the corner from the edge of the area, but the goal was ruled out with Khéphren Thuram adjudged to be obstructing the goalkeeper from an offside position.

Koopmeiners soon went close again with a similar effort that flashed just wide, while Jonathan David wasted a good opening by heading over from close range. It seemed the sides would go into the break level, but Lazio struck in first-half stoppage time when Daniel Maldini slipped Pedro through and the veteran forward saw his shot deflect off Bremer and into the net for his third goal in four games.

The Biancocelesti built on that momentum immediately after the restart, doubling their lead just two minutes into the second half. Gustav Isaksen latched onto a long ball and coolly lifted his finish into the roof of the net to leave Juventus reeling.

Juve nearly hit back straight away through top scorer Kenan Yıldız, whose curling effort from the edge of the box was brilliantly clawed away by Provedel. The Lazio goalkeeper was in inspired form and made another sprawling save to deny Edon Zhegrova before the hour mark, but the pressure finally told when Andrea Cambiaso kept the ball in play and crossed for Weston McKennie to head home his fourth Serie A goal of the season.

Lazio had chances to restore their two-goal cushion, with Kenneth Taylor curling wide from inside the area and Tijjani Noslin later blazing over when well placed. At the other end, Nuno Tavares made a crucial sliding intervention to prevent Bremer from tapping in, while Yıldız and McKennie were both thwarted again, the latter seeing a goal ruled out for offside.

Those missed opportunities proved costly. In the sixth minute of stoppage time, Kalulu rose highest to head home and complete a dramatic comeback, preserving Juventus’ unbeaten home record in Serie A this season (W7, D5).

The result keeps Juventus three points clear of fifth-placed Roma as they look to secure the final UEFA Champions League qualification spot, while Lazio remain eighth and extend their unbeaten away league run to five matches (W2, D3).
