Juventus stumble in Serie A title chase after home draw with city rivals Torino

Torino goalkeeper Alberto Paleari produced a series of vital saves to secure a goalless draw against Juventus in the Derby della Mole at the Allianz Stadium, ending Il Toro’s run of three straight away defeats in the fixture.
In his first Serie A home match as Juventus manager, Luciano Spalletti watched his side dominate possession for long stretches but struggle to convert their control into genuine scoring chances during a cagey first half.
Juventus’ best opportunity before the break came in the 41st minute when Francisco Conceição weaved his way into the box and forced Paleari into a fine fingertip save to keep the contest level at halftime.
Torino offered little attacking threat in the opening period but came close just minutes after the restart. Giovanni Simeone, on loan from Napoli, thought he had given the visitors the lead only for the assistant’s flag — and a subsequent VAR check — to confirm he had strayed offside.
Buoyed by that close call, Torino grew in confidence. Substitute Che Adams nearly broke the deadlock with a sharp effort that required Michele Di Gregorio to make an excellent low save.
At the other end, Paleari continued to frustrate Juventus, denying Jonathan David from close range before reacting superbly to tip Weston McKennie’s header over the bar in quick succession.
Despite late pressure from the hosts, Torino’s defensive resolve held firm as Juventus were forced to settle for a point — leaving Spalletti slightly disappointed after extending his unbeaten start in charge to three games (W1, D2).
The draw leaves Juventus sitting fifth in the Serie A standings, while Torino remain 11th, five points adrift, after the third goalless encounter of the day in Italy’s top flight.
