Juventus Set to Appoint Luciano Spalletti as New Head Coach

Luciano Spalletti is reportedly on the verge of returning to Serie A management, with multiple Italian outlets claiming that the veteran coach has agreed to take charge of Juventus following the dismissal of Igor Tudor.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Spalletti has reached an agreement on a short-term deal that runs until the end of the current season. The contract reportedly includes an automatic extension clause, which would activate should Juventus secure Champions League qualification.
Juventus Turn to Experience After Turbulent Run
Juventus’ decision comes after a poor run of form that has seen the club go eight competitive matches without a victory — their worst spell in recent memory. A 2–1 defeat to Lazio at the weekend proved to be the final straw for the club’s hierarchy, prompting Tudor’s removal.
Despite their struggles, the Bianconeri remain within touching distance of the top four, sitting eighth in Serie A but just three points behind fourth-placed Inter. The appointment of Spalletti is seen as a move to steady the ship and revive their push for European qualification.
Spalletti Responds to the Reports
When asked about the Juventus links, Spalletti played down the speculation but admitted his desire to return to club football.
“Me, the new coach of Juventus? So far, I haven’t been in contact with any Italian teams, but I do want to return,” Spalletti told Sky Sport Italia.
He also took a moment to praise the departing Tudor, saying:
“Igor is a man of great values. He’s direct, honest, and full of substance. Whoever replaces him will inherit a well-coached side.”
A Decorated Career Returns to Turin
Spalletti’s last club role came with Napoli, where he famously guided the team to their first Serie A title in over three decades during the 2022/23 season. His success in Naples earned him widespread acclaim, though his subsequent spell as Italy’s national team coach ended in disappointment.
The 65-year-old tactician brings a wealth of experience, having previously managed Roma, Inter Milan, Udinese, Sampdoria, Empoli, and Russian giants Zenit St Petersburg.
Should the move be confirmed, Juventus will be hoping Spalletti can once again deliver stability, discipline, and results — qualities that have defined much of his managerial career.
