UEFA Women’s Under-19 European Championship – Group B3
Thursday, 9th April 2026 – Centenary Stadium, Ta’ Qali
Malta 0 – 7 Israel (HT 0-4)

The Malta Women’s Under-19 National Team faced a challenging start to their UEFA Women’s U19 European Championship – Round 2 campaign, falling to a disciplined and clinical Israeli side at the Centenary Stadium.

Clinical First Half

Israel established dominance early, finding the net just three minutes into the match through Goren Tamar. Despite Malta’s efforts to stabilize—including a long-range attempt from Lara May Azzopardi and a goal-saving tackle by Amber Galea—Israel’s pressure proved relentless.

Adee Goulden doubled the lead in the 22nd minute, followed by a second from Tamar in the 38th. Just before the interval, Or Divan converted a penalty to send the visitors into the break with a commanding 4-0 lead.

Second Half Pressure

The momentum continued immediately after the restart, with Divan securing her brace in the 48th minute. Malta showed flashes of resilience; Nyorah Celeste created several opportunities, nearly connecting with Lisa Calleja and later setting up Ema Micallef, though the Maltese side couldn’t find the finishing touch.

Goalkeeper Erika Muscat made several key saves to keep the deficit from widening further until the closing stages. However, late strikes from Talia Darah Camin (82’) and Shay Elmaleh (86’) sealed the 7-0 result for the visitors.
