Hibernians secure third consecutive victory ahead of Super Cup clash

Hibernians extended their winning streak to three matches with a professional 2–1 victory over Żabbar St Patrick. The result confirms the Paolites’ resurgent form and provides a significant morale boost just days before they face Ħamrun Spartans in the Super Cup final this coming Tuesday at the National Stadium.
In a match characterized by disciplined defending from both sides, clear-cut scoring opportunities were at a premium. However, Hibernians proved clinical, breaking the deadlock with their first major chance of the game. Brazilian forward Cleiton showed sharp instincts, reacting quickest to a loose ball to fire a low, powerful strike past the Żabbar goalkeeper.
The Paolites nearly doubled their lead seven minutes before the interval when Miullen unleashed a firm drive that whistled just wide of the upright.
Hibernians eventually found the cushion they were looking for in the second half. After being awarded a penalty, Mailson took responsibility and calmly converted from the spot, putting his side 2–0 ahead and seemingly out of reach.
Despite the deficit, Żabbar St Patrick demonstrated commendable spirit and refused to surrender. Their persistence paid off in the 71st minute when Pedro Cejas found space in the area to fire home from close range, setting up a tense final twenty minutes.
Nevertheless, Hibernians quickly regained their composure. The Paolites managed the closing stages of the match with maturity, neutralizing the Żabbar attack to protect their lead and secure another three points.
