Heartbreak for Malta as penalty shootout ends eight-goal thriller against Turkey


Malta suffered a cruel penalty shootout defeat against Turkey after an extraordinary eight-goal encounter ended 4–4 in regulation time.
In a pulsating contest packed with twists, goals and momentum swings, Malta showed character and attacking quality throughout, matching Turkey blow for blow before narrowly missing out from the spot.
