England and Manchester United F.C. defender Harry Maguire has been handed a 15-month suspended prison sentence by a Greek court over a 2020 brawl in Mykonos, according to Sky Sports.

Maguire was found guilty of repeated bodily harm, attempted bribery, and violence against public employees following his arrest during the altercation, in which two police officers were assaulted. He was detained for two days after the incident and has consistently denied any wrongdoing.

Initially, Maguire received a suspended sentence of 21 months and 10 days but was granted a full retrial after appealing against multiple convictions. Under Greek judicial procedure, this appeal nullified the previous conviction before a retrial in a higher court, which was postponed several times.

At the retrial, the 32-year-old was convicted of non-serious assault, resisting arrest, and attempted bribery. While found guilty on all counts, he will not serve prison time. His legal team intends to appeal the verdict, Sky Sports reported.

Maguire’s brother Joe and friend Christopher Sharman were also convicted over their involvement in the Mykonos incident in 2020 and received suspended sentences. Both have denied wrongdoing.
