Ħamrun 147 A win the National Christmas Trophy
Ħamrun 147 A lifted the National Christmas Trophy in Blackball after defeating Qormi Pinto A 11–9 in an exciting final.
The match proved to be a highly competitive encounter, with Ħamrun taking an early advantage by opening a 4–1 lead at the end of the first session. Despite this, Qormi Pinto A mounted a strong comeback in the third session and moved ahead 8–7.
Ħamrun 147 A, however, remained composed in the decisive stages of the match and went on to win the final four frames to secure overall victory.
This success marked a second consecutive achievement for the club, following Ħamrun 147 B’s triumph in the Regional Christmas Trophy a day earlier.
Ħamrun 147 A were represented by Leon Azzopardi, Dejan Grech, Owen Amato, Philip Coleiro and Stephen Mangion, with Clayton Castaldi serving as coach. Qormi Pinto A featured Clint Azzopardi, Dylan Cassar, Mevrick Zammit, Troy Zammit, Lydan Debono, Ivan Rizzo, Glenn Axiaq and Joseph Fiteni, under the guidance of coach Malcolm Parnis.
