Tallon Griekspoor booked his place in the second round of the ABN AMRO Open in Rotterdam with a straight-sets victory over Frenchman Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard, winning 6–4, 6–4 on centre court.

The Dutchman arrived at his home tournament looking to respond after another frustrating week on tour, having suffered a quarter-final defeat to world No.120 Titouan Droguet in Montpellier.

Drawn against the big-serving Mpetshi Perricard, Griekspoor started confidently, holding serve with authority and eventually converting his fourth break point to seize control of the opening set. He was forced to dig deep late on, saving three break points at 40–15, before closing out the set on his second set point.

Both players raised their level in the second set, trading powerful serves on the Ahoy hard court. Griekspoor survived a crucial third service game that featured three break points for the Frenchman, showing resilience under pressure.

The decisive moment came in the ninth game, when Griekspoor secured another break before sealing victory with a dominant love service game to complete a solid performance and advance in Rotterdam.

Up next for Griekspoor is Frenchman Quentin Halys, who defeated Dutch wildcard Mees Rottgering in three sets to book his spot in the next round.
