GREE Żurrieq Wolves Hotsticks earn second draw in Euro Hockey competition

GREE Żurrieq Wolves Hotsticks earned their second draw in Pool B of the Euro Hockey Club Challenge II currently being held in the Polish city of Torun, after a 1-1 result against HC Siauliai.
The Żurrieq side once again produced a solid performance against their Lithuanian opponents and even managed to take the lead in the opening quarter before conceding the equaliser in the final quarter.
Gary Bonnici opened the scoring for Żurrieq, while Julius Bandziulus levelled matters for HC Siauliai.
Today, GREE Żurrieq Wolves Hotsticks face a very difficult assignment as they take on group leaders Grammarians Hockey Club from Gibraltar at 12:15pm. Grammarians defeated Soroksari 2-1 yesterday.
In the standings, Grammarians lead the group with ten points, followed by GREE Żurrieq Wolves Hotsticks with four points, while Soroksari and Siauliai both have three points.
Meanwhile, Maltese champions Qormi Daikin will also enter action today in the Euro Hockey Club Challenge I taking place in Slovenia, where they will face Ukraine’s Olimpiavinnitsa at 5:45pm.
