Żabbar St. Patrick have officially named Valletta legend Gilbert Agius as their new senior team head coach. Agius succeeds Aniello Parisi, who departed the club by mutual consent.

Parisi leaves the “Saints” after joining in October 2024 and successfully securing their Premier League survival last season. However, despite a mid-table finish in the YoHealth Malta Premier Bottom 6 during the opening phase of this season, the team has struggled in the Closing Round, failing to secure a single point in their first five matches.

A Wealth of Experience

Agius brings an extensive coaching pedigree to Żabbar:

• Valletta FC: Between 2012 and 2020, he served several stints as both assistant and head coach for the Citizens, working alongside managers such as Mark Miller, Paul Zammit, and Giovanni Tedesco.
• National Team: He was appointed Malta Under-21 head coach in January 2021, a role he held for two years.
• International Stint: In February 2023, he moved to Indonesia to lead PSIS Semarang before returning to Malta in early 2024.

The appointment marks a significant move for Żabbar St. Patrick as they look to Agius’s leadership to reverse their fortunes in the final stage of the Premier League season.
