St Lawrence Spurs moved to the top of the GFA BOV Gozo Football League 2nd Division standings after a commanding 4-2 victory over Żebbuġ Rovers, with Brazilian forward Felipe Augusto De Oliveira stealing the show with all four goals for his side.

Żebbuġ Rovers made a bright start, taking the lead after 20 minutes through Haraan Hajazan Gonçalves Barbosa, who converted from the penalty spot. However, St Lawrence quickly turned the game around as De Oliveira struck twice in the space of five minutes (28’, 33’) to give his team a 2-1 advantage by half-time.

Żebbuġ managed to level matters six minutes after the restart thanks to Jake Sacco, but the Spurs’ talismanic forward was unstoppable on the day. De Oliveira restored the lead in the 67th minute before sealing the victory with a late penalty on 89 minutes — capping off a sensational four-goal performance that sent St Lawrence to the summit with seven points from three matches.

In the day’s other fixture, Oratory Youths and Munxar Falcons played out a 1-1 draw in a tense encounter.

Oratory took the lead midway through the second half when Aroldo “Aroldinho” Da Silva Arruda converted from the penalty spot on 65 minutes. However, Munxar hit back nine minutes later through Ayesller Carvalho, ensuring the points were shared. The Falcons ended the match with ten men after Eman Bugeja was sent off in the 80th minute.
