Fulham climb into top half as Callum Wilson strikes again in win over Burnley

Fulham boosted their hopes of European qualification with a comeback 3-1 victory over relegation-threatened Burnley, who have now managed just one win in their last 22 Premier League matches.
With time running out in their fight for survival, every game is increasingly crucial for Burnley. They were always likely to face a tough test against a Fulham side coached by former boss Scott Parker, though they did carve out an early opportunity when Zian Flemming saw a header blocked by Calvin Bassey.
Harry Wilson once again proved a major threat against Burnley, having been involved in all three goals in Fulham’s 3-2 win in the reverse fixture. He continued to cause problems here, twice curling efforts narrowly wide and once forcing a strong punch from Martin Dúbravka.
Chances continued to fall to the same players, with Flemming going closest in the first half, meeting a dangerous cross but directing his diving header straight at Bernd Leno.
Despite plenty of effort from both sides, neither team could break the deadlock before half-time, though the second half promised more intensity with so much at stake.
That expectation was quickly realised for Fulham, who created an early opening when Josh King surged through on goal, only to be denied by Dúbravka before Rodrigo Muniz fired the rebound wide with the goal gaping.
Fulham were made to pay for their missed chances as Burnley struck against the run of play to take the lead.
Lyle Foster created space in an inside-right position before driving a dangerous cross across goal, where Zian Flemming arrived at the far post to finish and put the Clarets ahead. However, Burnley’s advantage lasted only moments, with a defensive lapse quickly gifting Fulham a route back into the game.
A hopeful ball into the box led to confusion as Martin Dúbravka rushed off his line unnecessarily, colliding with Josh King and allowing the loose ball to fall kindly for the equaliser.
Buoyed by the leveller, Fulham soon turned the game around. Harry Wilson drifted in from the right and produced a trademark finish, curling the ball into the near corner to put the hosts ahead.
Josh Laurent later missed a clear chance to draw Burnley level and endured a nightmare finish to the match when he was sent off in added time for denying a clear goalscoring opportunity.
Raúl Jiménez stepped up to convert the resulting penalty, sealing a comprehensive win for Fulham, who made the most of playing before many of their European rivals.
